Possesses overall responsibility of growing the stations’ profitability.
Oversees all station departments including news, sales, marketing, engineering, programming, production and community affairs.
Heavily involved with all departments working closely with department heads to optimize station performance.
Sets work ethic, tone and pace of the station.
Predicts market trends and sets budgets and performance expectations.
Ensures the station is in compliance with all equal employment opportunity (EEO) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requirements.
Responsible for maintaining the station’s reputation and market image.
Creates clear vision for the station and the blueprints for success that every staff member is expected to follow.
Creates and maintains relationships with advertisers and potential advertisers.
Committed to involving the station in community events and public affairs.
Must be a strong leader with the ability to manage all aspects of the station.
Significant relevant experience in broadcasting sales management, news or related required.
Ideal candidate will possess excellent news judgment.
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Communications, or related field preferred
Prior experience as a General Manager for a television station preferred.
