CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a commission based sales environment, preferably in Media. Generate qualified leads for the station and schedule needs analysis meetings with those prospects. Accurately access the needs of those prospects and customize and organize multi-media sales presentations, to meet those needs and close new business/client accounts for CBS Television. Provide competitive market reports in weekly sales meetings and accurately forecast sales revenue and activity. Analysis of Nielsen ratings and Scarborough research. Contribute to team effort by meeting established sales goals. Comply with company sales procedures. Travel to client meetings and/or presentations.
Hands-on knowledge of media industry is essential. Related-sales experience is required. Ability to identify and implement creative and enterprising sales opportunities. Must be a highly driven and organized individual. Excellent presentation skills are a must. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are a must. Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially excel and power point. Job is based in San Francisco. Reliable transportation and proof of valid car insurance are required. Travel is required. College degree preferred. Ability to meet sales objectives in a commission-only environment.
Physical Demands: Must be able to sit at desk and operate a keyboard for an extended period of time. Must be able to travel and/or drive to client meetings and/or presentations. Must be able to effectively communicate (in English) both verbally and in writing.
