The sports reporter will provide sports coverage for KOVR/KMAX news programs and online properties.    The reporter must be able to set up, shoot, and edit sports-related stories for presentation to viewers.  Knowledge of a variety of popular sports is required as well as on-going issues related to the sports industry.  As a sports reporter, you will be required to cover and report in both live and taped formats inside and outside of the TV station.   Anchoring experience, shooting, writing, and editing are required for this position.   Proven experience working in multiple digital platforms will enhance your application. Must be able to professionally deliver information, clearly and concisely in a television and digital format.  Engaging, compelling writing and excellent oral skills are essential.   


Must have at least 3 years of professional television experience, with at least 2 years as a sports reporter/anchor.   Familiarity with the California region and a knowledge of the area’s predominant sports franchises and local collegiate teams is desired.  A college degree or its equivalent is required.   You must be able to operate video and editing equipment, with competency on the computer and must hold a valid driver’s license to be able to drive to sports stories.
