CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).
The sports MMJ will provide sports coverage for KOVR/KMAX news programs and online properties. The MMJ must be able to set up, shoot, write, and edit sports-related stories for presentation to viewers. Knowledge of a variety of popular sports is required. Must have professional, engaging on-camera skills, as occasional filling in for a sports anchor is necessary. Clear and concise writing skills are necessary and excellent time management skills are essential. May shoot with other members on the sports team and edit others sports material for newscasts or digital. Familiarity with the California region and a knowledge of the area’s predominant sports franchises and local collegiate teams is desired.
Must have at least 2 years of professional television experience with experience in shooting sports stories. A college degree or its equivalent is required. You must be able to operate video and editing equipment, with competency on the computer and must hold a valid driver’s license to be able to drive to sports stories. Must have the ability to operate a live microwave truck. Familiarity with portable live equipment (dejero, liveU) is helpful.
