Position Purpose:  We’re looking for an experienced reporter to produce, report, shoot, write, voice and edit content for our Entertainment/Lifestyle program “Pittsburgh Today Live”.  You must be able to deliver content in an energetic manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to viewers on all platforms, which includes live production and social media sites. in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to viewers.  Knowledge of trending lifestyle topics that impact our community and target audience is a plus.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Reports stories for lifestyle show, Pittsburgh Today Live, describing the background and details of events, both in a live and packaged format

  • Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots, stand-ups and creative graphics

  • Arranges interviews with people who can provide information about stories

  • Determines a story’s emphasis and organizes material accordingly

  • Researches and analyzes background information related to stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information

  • Pitches stories to managers relevant to the local community

  • Discusses issues with producers and/or managers to establish priorities or positions

  • Shoots, edits, reports for all platforms

  • Ensures that all content meets program standards for journalistic integrity and production quality

  • Writes stories for the web and social media, and possible later newscasts

  • Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites

  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Qualified candidate must have effective oral and written communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills.

  • College degree preferred.
