A key member of the CBS 2 / WLNY-TV creative team, the Design Director will work with the Creative Director and the Executive Producer to conceptualize and execute compelling creative and deliver cutting edge design work for CBS Television Broadcast / Web / Print and other network areas.  The role requires the candidate to be a highly creative thinker and actual doer who can connect creative concepts and the stable of creative people with business objectives under very tight deadlines.  Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and multi-task projects ranging from film shoots, storyboards, logo designs to smaller digital deliverables such as animated Gifs.  Team leader attitude and a team builder.

Candidate will manage, schedule and work closely with the staff and freelance pool of motion graphic designers to ensure continuity of design and shared assets. 
Will work with Sales team to create assets for commercials.
Will work with Engineering team for best practices and design equipment upgrades.
Will work with other divisions inside our company and assist in shaping the work of select staff, freelance designers and agency partners.
Conceive and design a wide range and diverse network of print materials including marketing collateral, logos, presentations, social marketing assets, event and environmental design, press kits and other pieces as necessary.


Minimum of 5 years broadcast and/or online design experience.

Experience in television, film or entertainment preferred, but not required.

Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Powerpoint/presentation experience is a must.

Familiarity with Flash, HTML, web design, banner design.

Working knowledge of AfterEffects is a must.

Being hands on and using Cinema 4D required.

Experience in print and print production techniques as candidate must be able to complete a job from design concept to pre-press preparation.

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and a fabulous portfolio and/or reel.
