KTVT-TV the CBS O&O station in Dallas/Fort Worth has an immediate opening for a Part-time Web Producer / News Writer.  We are looking for a strong writer with a passion for story-telling. Candidate will be primarily responsible for writing news content for the station website and social media. Candidate will potentially also write for newscasts, teases, and graphics. Contribute story ideas and participate actively in coverage decisions and editorial meetings.

This position requires a clear understanding of journalism process and ethics. The Part-time Web Producer / News Writer should also be able to generate and upload quality news, sports, and entertainment content including written, audio and video content, create basic Photoshop graphic content for the web and help enhance website traffic and user activity. The Part-time Web Producer / News Writer must possess excellent writing and proofing skills and be familiar with the AP style of writing. Candidate is expected to post content on both web and social media platforms that is creative, concise, of excellent quality and free of typographical errors.


Candidate should possess strong digital media acumen; knowledge of online trends and social media platforms. 

WordPress experience is preferred.

HOURS: Candidate will be expected to work on Saturday & Sunday, 2p-11p. Other evenings/days for fill-in possible. Approximately 16-32 hours per week.
