This position reports directly to the Manager of Crew & Facility Scheduling. 

Responsibilities include assigning Technical and Operational manpower to various CBS News broadcasts with an emphasis in controlling departmental costs. 

A key role of the Scheduler is to manage the assignment of day of air changes as well as being able to handle the last minute needs of Special Events.  This position also requires knowledge of the work rules associated with three of our four Union groups. Technicians, IATSE Stagehands and DGA Associate Directors, and constant interaction with all News broadcast production people to provide an effective and efficient work environment.  This person is also responsible for actualizing payroll in conjunction with the billing of all resources to the appropriate broadcast, and where appropriate allocate costs out to departments outside of CBS News.


Mandatory skills/experience Strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as being computer literate with an understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Xymox/Enterprise- a Windows based scheduling/reporting application.

Educational requirements: College Graduate with at least a BA or BS degree. Some job experience preferred.
