Description:

  • Help establish the strategic development goals of the department by identifying trends, brainstorming ideas, determining needs, etc.
  • Field pitches, read specs, identify new business opportunities and secure new talent for projects in development.
  • Provide notes on stories, outlines, scripts and cuts for projects in development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with production partners, including studio executives, producers, writers, directors, actors, agents, managers, etc.
  • Attend pilot shoots to ensure that agreed upon concepts are fully realized in production.
  • Assist in launching shows from pilot to series, including creative notes, assisting in finding and hiring of writing staff and episodic directors.
  •  Work closely with various departments internally to communicate information and act as a liaison for the department’s projects.
Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years experience in television/film.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a creative executive capacity, preferably in development.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Proven skills in program scheduling and knowledge of network operations.
• Experience in television development. 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and high energy environment.
• Experience in either generating and taking pitches for a production company or taking pitches for a network or studio.
• Must exhibit flexibility, excellent communication skills and relationship building ability.
• Must have strong relationships with agents, managers, writers and producers. 
• Must be:
