Description:

The Sales Planner will primarily focus on managing the pre-sale aspects of campaigns and will be a daily contact for campaign planning and execution once the primary advertising strategy is released. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of advertising schedules from proposal to payment
  • Build media plans and schedule units based on inventory avails
  • Resolve any traffic and financial discrepancies
  • Manage liability and book recap units when needed
  • Process and analyze sales posts or personnel from multiple departments such as Sales, Research, Traffic and Accounting to provide timely and accurate information to the sales team and to the client
  • Fill inventory avails and clear oversells to meet integration deadlines
  • Build and maintain quality relationships with media agencies and advertising partners
  • Complete necessary research and analysis in relation to campaigns
  • Collaborate with departments to develop and maintain sales proposals
  • Assist Account Executives with maintaining client relationships and answering client concerns. 
  • Provide plans that target important clients and their needs through focusing on the selling of advertising
  • Collect and summarize marketplace intelligence related to sales and programming

 

Decision Making / Accountability

  • Receive guidance and direction from Account Executive
  • Interaction with all levels of personnel internally and externally
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft business applications, with a focus on Excel
  • Knowledge of media sales processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work with internal and external clients
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Driven and self-motivated to work independently and as part of a team

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience Considered a Plus

  • Working knowledge of media planning and media terms, concepts and acronyms
  • Previous media sales, media buying or media planning experience within the entertainment industry

Education / Certification

·      Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
