Editor of the CBS Press Express website: responsible for maintaining CTD’s portion of the press site and making sure all editorial information, press releases and photos are up to date; connects with publicists on all 10 shows to post their materials and ensure accuracy; also maintains DVD and Consumer Products sections.
Updates the CTD portion of the CBS Corp. web site and works with marketing to make sure they have the most up to date materials for the external CTD web site.
Compiles and distributes daily clip reports from all our shows, as well as creating a weekly report as a tool for sales departments.
Researches publications and journalists to pitch features/news to as well as create press lists for our department and the individual shows to use.
Pitches appropriate photos from our division to trade publications.
Maintains master press release chart.
Maintains talent appearance calendar and publicity status reports.
Proofreads press releases and written materials from our department.
Updates ratings charts on a weekly basis and has ability to pitch ratings stories as well as handle publicists’ ratings requests.
Writes and disseminates CTD Newsflash.
Liaison to corporate for CBS Update and CBS Investor Newsletter submissions. Writes all items from our division and submits for the updates.
Coordinates all Emmy-related activities from tickets to seating to writing congratulatory letters to planning celebratory events.
Assists and plans events such as TCA, Comic-Con, press events, etc.
Manages department intern.
Participate in weekly update calls with show publicists and attend meetings as needed for show publicity, DVD and Consumer Products.
Edit press releases from DVD and Consumer Products and circulate for approvals
Administrative duties such as answering phones, handling expenses and booking travel.
Candidates must have a strong interest in public relations, preferably a degree in communications, public relations or journalism; one to two years of related experience (PR assistant or agency experience preferred); excellent writing skills; superior organizational skills; strong communication skills; and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
