We have an exciting vacancy for a sales executive to join our fast-paced and dynamic team. Reporting to the Special Sales Director, you will work across a large number of the UK’s special sales retailers and wholesalers, including major gift, museums and galleries, audio, religious and MBS specialists selling in fiction, non-fiction, children’s, client and distributed titles.
You will have responsibility for managing and growing sales into a wide variety of special sales accounts and helping to create strategies for growth within the territory. Taking into account the ever changing retail landscape, you will help to identify growth opportunities and new customers to target, and tailor product /create bespoke product to meet the needs of those customers. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of your accounts, for minimizing returns and negotiating discounts in order to both deliver sales targets and protect company profitability. Along with the Special Sales Director, you will be a key contact for the territory within the wider Sales Team and company, liaising clearly with other departments and providing excellent market and competitor feedback in order to inform both book acquisition and jacket design decisions. You will also be responsible for liaising with our distributor and warehousing facility to ensure that logistics of delivery requirements are adhered to and correct prices are invoiced.
We are looking for a driven individual with a passion for books. Experience and an understanding of the publishing process would give you an advantage. You will have an eye for detail and a proven understanding of sales techniques and process, margins and profits. Your ability to grow and build customer relationships should be second to none and you should have strong interpersonal and presentation skills. You should always be willing to take on new challenges, be flexible and determined to succeed. You will have a prowess for multi-tasking and innovative thinking and be able to work on your own and as part of a team. A creative flair and knowledge of PowerPoint, InDesign and Photoshop would give you an advantage.
