Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing is seeking a creative, organized, and energetic Senior Marketing Manager to oversee marketing campaigns for our Teen titles and brands across age groups for the Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, Atheneum Books for Young Readers, and Margaret K. McElderry Books imprints. Authors include Jenny Han, Morgan Matson, Jason Reynolds, Neal Shusterman, and Stu Gibbs. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and strategic professional who can present marketing strategies at both in-house and out-of-house meetings, including to authors and agents.

Specific responsibilities include: 

* Brainstorm, develop, and execute integrated title-specific marketing plans 

*Provide strategic brand management for continuing series and house authors

* Develop advertising strategies across imprints

* Manage title-specific budget

* Provide copy & creative direction for ads and other promotional items 

*Write and develop content for Riveted Lit by Simon Teen

* Prepare marketing proposals for potential acquisitions 

* Work closely with digital team in creating marketing strategies and online content

* Explore cross-partnership opportunities 

* Oversee video content creation and development with digital team

* Present title plans at weekly and seasonal sales meeting 

* Occasional travel to represent Simon & Schuster at consumer and trade festivals

* Collaborate with key in-house departments including: Marketing, Education and Library Marketing, Digital/Social Media Marketing, Publicity, Sales, and Editorial 


The ideal candidate will have:

*4+ years of experience in book marketing; children’s book experience preferred (teen & middle grade experience a plus)

*Experience managing high-level campaigns

*Excellent copywriting skills

*Consumer marketing focus

*Knowledge of marketplace and trends

* Strong communication skills
