Description:

Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, home to countless beloved authors, books, brands, and series—including Cassandra Clare, Jenny Han, Jason Reynolds, Morgan Matson, and Ellen Hopkins—is searching for a Marketing Coordinator for our digital & social marketing department to manage Riveted by Simon Teen, our vibrant and fast-growing website and social community centered around young adult books.  

Our ideal candidate is a creative, organized, high energy, widely read lover of young adult literature. The Marketing Coordinator will work with the rest of the digital marketing team on the development and execution of social and digital initiatives for S&S Children’s publishing across imprints, with a focus on YA.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Daily management of YA-focused social channels, including planning and posting content, writing copy, engaging with followers, maximizing reach and growing audience
  • Serving as primary editor of RivetedLit.com, S&S’s online community for teen readers and lovers of YA novels, including monthly content planning and site organization, writing posts, co-managing editorial board meetings, soliciting content from in-house contributors, and preparing weekly Riveted newsletter
  • Executing title-specific digital marketing campaigns and maintaining up-to-date digital marketing plans for YA books
  • Creating digital assets for use in organic social promotion, including photographs
  • Coordinating Riveted branded promotions at consumer cons and festivals, including YALLFest, YALLWest, SDCC & NYCC

 

Qualifications:

Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the YA publishing landscape, including competitive environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Understanding of social media and high comfort level with all major platforms

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior digital marketing and/or publishing experience
  • Photoshop, InDesign, and/or HTML skills
  • Photography skills
