The Copy Coordinator is responsible for routing and tracking all of our digital/feed copy as well as managing the fluctuating title lists for all imprints—adult and children’s—keeping careful track of any additions or deletions to the season. Some copywriting is required, with potential for growth according to candidate’s ability/interest. Interest in and basic understanding of metadata, SEO and discoverability, and the ability to research, identify, and incorporate keywords in copy is a plus. The Coordinator also attends and takes notes at imprint launch meetings, acts as a liaison with our part-time writer and in-house imprint contacts, and manages departmental proofreading and other special projects that include correcting online copy, creating copy for add-ons and eBook originals, troubleshooting feed problems, and more. Strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills are required and attention to detail is a must.
Mandatory: college grad; computer literate (MAC a plus); highly organized and extremely detail-oriented a must; excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills; works well under pressure and tight deadlines. A short writing and proofreading test will be administered. Knowledge of proofreading marks; interest in advertising and promotion helpful.
