Simon & Schuster is looking for a Copy Coordinator for a very busy ad/promo department. Responsibilities include: Proofreading of all promotional materials—both print and online; Some copy writing required; Other special projects include correcting online copy, routing, tracking, and entering digital/feed copy as well as managing the fluctuating seasonal title lists for all imprints and divisions—adult and children’s—keeping careful track of any additions or deletions to the season. Interest in and basic understanding of metadata, SEO and discoverability, and the ability to research, identify, and update search keywords is a plus. Coordinator also acts as a liaison with our part-time writer and in-house imprint contacts, troubleshoots feed problems, and more.
computer literate (MAC a plus); strong copy editing and proofreading skills; highly organized and extremely detail-oriented a must; excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills; knowledge of proofreading marks and familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style a plus; works well under pressure and tight deadlines.
A short writing and proofreading test will be administered.
