The Financial Account Director – Affiliate Finance oversees a wide range of financial responsibilities that ensure accurate reflection of revenue and subscriber information reported within SNI and to CBS. This position will manage all financial and contractual aspects (i.e. revenue, marketing expense, cash collections and budgeting/ forecasting) of several Key Accounts and/or a diversified account portfolio for the Sales team. In addition, actively participate within an empowered, self-directed, and cross-functional team environment.
The FAD is the primary resource regarding financial information of an assigned account portfolio, as well as various other smaller accounts. The position is responsible for managing all monthly accrual-based revenue and expense related transactions for the accounts as well as the development of the monthly and quarterly forecasts, long range plans and creation of monthly subscriber and trend analyses. The FAD is responsible for reviewing the monthly trends, providing variance analyses and taking a proactive approach in managing the accounts. This includes understanding all relevant business issues that may impact the accounts’ performance, discussing all significant revenue and expense variances with the Key Account Vice President in a timely manner, and making recommendations regarding the forecasting and presentation of information to senior management. Additionally, the FAD must identify and effectively communicate the necessary risks and opportunities regarding the forecast of both revenue and expense and rate economics of the accounts. This position will also play a critical role in modeling and analyzing associated with contract negotiations. A deep understanding of the accounts, the macro-environment for premium network distribution and a strong partnership with the Sales Team is crucial for success.
This position will be responsible for developing a strong understanding of the various revenue and expense systems utilized by the Department. The FAD will be utilized by the team as a key resource for any questions and or identified problems and will be responsible for helping to resolve these items with the help of IS&T.
In addition, the FAD will oversee many of the Affiliate Finance department’s monthly close processes such as balance sheet reconciliations, account P&L accuracy, and designated Key Account reporting and metrics.
The FAD will partner closely with and assist the SVP, Affiliate Finance & Business Operations and the VP, Affiliate Finance & Business Operations with multiple strategic and analytical analyses that arise on an ad hoc basis. Such analyses require that the FAD have extensive knowledge of the industry and associated trends, a firm understanding of SNI’s overall strategy, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
The FAD is an integral part of one of SNI’s Sales Key Account teams and works directly with the Account Vice President and Director of the Key Account team to develop models, ad-hoc analysis and presentations that assist in making strategic decisions and fulfill the ongoing requests from SNI senior management and CBS regarding high profile accounts. The FAD will assist in aligning individual Key Account strategies with the overall SNI company goals in order to meet financial targets.
This role supports, partners with and provides guidance to the Key Account teams and marketing department to understand and analyze the financial impact of all major marketing campaigns. The position will partner closely with Financial Account Managers across all Key Accounts, SNI’s Affiliate Finance expense team, Business Operations and Sales & Marketing to understand ROI for premium marketing campaigns.
As a leader in the Finance Organization, the FAD actively participates in team development by supporting the principles of effective teams and assisting in the selection and training of new team members, including sales employees. Additionally, this role will act as a resource to various finance teams regarding both business and team related issues. This includes actively participating in committees that lead change within the Affiliate Finance team as well as the overall Finance Organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
- 4 to 6 years previous experience in revenue management, contract interpretation/billing and accounts receivable systems.
