Showtime Networks Inc. (SNI) is seeking a Financial Account Director of Affiliate Finance & Business Operations to serve as a financial and strategic leader for our Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms. This position will be a critical resource to ensure continued growth of our emerging Broadband business, managing accounts such as Amazon, Hulu, Google, Apple, and Sony, among others. This is a highly visible role that will serve as a consultative resource to the SNI leadership team and functional managers across Finance, Marketing, Sales, Research and Business Product Development & Management. The Director will oversee a wide range of financial responsibilities that ensure accurate reflection of revenue and subscriber information reported and manage all financial and contractual aspects (e.g., revenue, marketing expense, cash collections and budgeting/ forecasting). The Director is expected to take a proactive approach in managing the OTT accounts, which includes understanding marketplace trends that may impact Showtime’s performance and making timely recommendations regarding the forecasting and presentation of information to senior management. A successful candidate will see themselves as a solution provider, be able to adapt to industry developments and help facilitate strategic shifts in SNI’s Broadband strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage all monthly accrual-based revenue and expense related transactions for OTT accounts as well as develop the monthly and quarterly forecasts, long range plans and create monthly subscriber and trend analyses
  • Review and track monthly trends and provide variance analyses for senior management
  • Identify and effectively communicate the necessary risks and opportunities regarding forecasting
  • Oversee many of the monthly close processes such as balance sheet reconciliations, account P&L accuracy and account reporting and metrics
  • Support the SNI senior management team in anticipating and addressing critical business questions
  • Partner closely with and assist the SVP and VP of Affiliate Finance & Business Operations with multiple strategic and analytical analyses that arise on an ad hoc basis
  • Work directly with the Account Vice President and other members of the Sales organization to develop models, ad-hoc analyses and presentations that assist in making strategic decisions and fulfill the ongoing requests from SNI senior management and CBS regarding high profile accounts
  • Assist in aligning strategies with overall SNI company goals in order to meet financial targets
  • Support, partner with and provide guidance to the Marketing department to understand and analyze the financial impact of marketing campaigns
  • Contribute to strategic presentations for both CBS Corp. and SNI senior management, including annual midyear review, budget and business overviews, and custom presentations as needed for SNI’s CEO, CFO and COO
  • As a leader in the Finance Organization, the Director is expected to participate in team development and act as a resource to various finance teams
  • Supervise and develop the Manager of Affiliate Finance, providing guidance on recurring assignments and engaging the Manager in new projects and fresh approaches to analyses

  •  BA/BS degree required; CPA or MBA a plus
  • 5-10 years previous Finance, Accounting or Operations experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (accrual-based accounting, journal entries, Balance Sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis)
  • Solid understanding of media & entertainment industry economics and performance drivers of multichannel and OTT programmers and distributors a plus
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities; high proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Effective communication skills to present information in compelling manner and appropriate format 
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
