Description:
Smithsonian Channel is seeking a Summer Intern for it's Digital Media Group.  The interns responsibilities will be:
 
  • Weekly partner promo audit (identifying featured brands on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Video)
  • Track other competitor networks across DTO platforms
  • Draft social media copy for 2017 partner promotions
  • Develop posts and strategies to support Smithsonian Networks across various social platforms
  • Assist in the day-to-day tasks of editorial, marketing, and program scheduling for digital distribution
  • Assist in QC of site, apps, social, and interactive projects
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Current undergraduate student (rising junior or senior)
  • Strong interest in Cable/Entertainment Industry
  • 2.50 GPA or above
  • Submission of a cover letter - required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work at least 35 hours/week for 8 weeks from 6/12-8/4
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work and prioritize work assignments
  • Able to provide administrative support as needed

Preferred:
  • Cable television experience a plus
  • Active participation in extracurricular activities; clubs; and/or associations. Leadership positions while maintaining an above-average GPA, a plus
  • Prior internship experience in a related field, a plus
  • Familiarity with Google Products
  • Very strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools
