CBS Radio seeks an Account Executive to grow sales across key local ​advertising buying agencies and clients. The primary responsibility is to drive and grow new local ​business revenue from advertisers and their agencies by aligning their marketing objectives with CBS Radio's portfolio of local advertising and marketing solutions. This is a high-velocity sales role requiring solid local ​industry expertise, relationships and a proven ability for closing deals. We’re looking for a candidate to sell traditional broadcast/cable and digital; sell across platforms: spot sales, digital, mobile, events/sponsorship.

The ideal candidate is assertive, creative, and resourceful and must enjoy working in a highly entrepreneurial environment. The position requires outstanding sales and communication skills to develop, maintain, and enhance advertising relationships. Position reports into Sales Manager is located in San Diego and is responsible for driving revenue across agencies/clients buying local digital advertising in San Diego.

The Account Executive's core responsibility is to meet or exceed revenue targets for their assigned territory. The ideal candidate will:

* Already have a complete contact list of local buyers in the San Diego region

* Have as complete a contact list as possible of local buyers in the San Diego region

* Be prepared to "hit the ground running" with their contact list
* Proactively prospect and perpetually grow their contact list
​* Build business from advertisers who have local marketing budgets ​
* Build CBS Radio's presence with local and spot buying agencies
* Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets
* Engage and strategize with senior level executives on the client side to demonstrate how CBS Radio can help meet their objectives
* Prepare proposals and respond to RFP's
* Participate in and represent CBS Radio at local sales ​at local industry events
* Work with Marketing and Advertising Operations to ensure the client's needs are met
* Stay current with online advertising trends and innovations


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years local sales experience with a track record of meeting/exceeding revenue goals
  • Established relationships with advertisers/agencies who look to place local media
  • Strong consultative sales skills, relationship building and customer services skills
  • High level of sales maturity
  • Self-starter capable of thriving in a start-up environment
  • Working knowledge of digital media sales
  • Ability to forecast projected revenue
  • A focus on growing average deal size, improving close ratio, and balancing the ratio of custom to standard programs
  • Demonstrated presentation skills to large and small groups
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiation, time management, prioritization and organization skills
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Mail and Google Docs
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Positive and infectious outlook and attitude
  • Works well within a team and individually
