CBS News is seeking a dynamic Bureau Chief, who leads by example, to drive standout editorial coverage from our LA Bureau. The perfect candidate should be a people-minded, highly competitive leader who knows how to collaborate and inspire a strong team of journalists, including senior producers, producers, correspondents, crews, digital journalists and assignment editors. You will lead an ambitious team in planning, developing and delivering daily news stories from the western part of the country. The ability to react quickly to breaking news, attract engaging newsmakers and boost the bureau's visibility is vital. You must also be a team player with the rest of the network, maintaining consistent communication with CBS Headquarters in New York and servicing all CBS platforms as necessary. The candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in senior leadership of a fast paced newsroom or bureau, be a creative, solutions oriented visionary, a skilled communicator with exceptional writing skills and have the highest of journalism standards.
