Division Overview: 

The CNET Media Group’s Growth & Engagement team is responsible for finding and developing new audiences, providing them with the right content at the right time, and building loyalty with our customers through a multi-platform strategy. We represent a large portfolio of passion brands with audiences around the globe, including TV Guide, Gamespot and Chowhound. We work with all departments across CBS Interactive including editorial, sales, product, design, business intelligence and more.

Role Details:

The social media intern will be responsible for helping maintain TV Guide and Chowhound’s social media presence across a variety of platforms, including Facebook, Flipboard, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Flipboard and Pinterest. Strong communication and writing skills, willingness to take initiative on projects and the ability to think creatively are necessary skills to achieve success in this role. Attention to detail is also an absolute must, as correct handles, hashtags and typo-free copy is of utmost importance. 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Edit YouTube captions on Chowhound and TV Guide’s YouTube pages

  • Post regularly to the Chowhound and TV Guide YouTube community pages

  • Update Chowhound and TV Guide magazines on Flipboard

  • Schedule posts on TV Guide and Chowhound’s Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram accounts 

  • Attend events and video shoots to capture social content for various Chowhound and TV Guide functions

  • Time commitment: full-time, 40 hours per week. 
  • This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines

What you bring to the team: 

You have – 

  • Excellent writing skills: grammatically correct, dynamic social copy free of spelling errors

  • Great communication skills and a friendly attitude 

  • Familiarity with posting on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and various other social platforms

  • Passion for television and pop culture and/or food 

  • Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or bootcamp

  • Must be at least 18 years old

You might also have – 

  • Understanding of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and other Adobe CC products

  • Familiarity with other Creative Suite applications

  • Basic video editing skills

  • Knowledge of social scheduling tools (Tweetdeck, SocialFlow, Facebook Creator Studio, etc.)
