Description:

Division Overview:

Business Intelligence is a part of the larger Data Insights Group (DIG) team, and is a diverse and agile group responsible for identifying business, editorial, and product opportunities, challenges, and trends and communicating those findings effectively to a variety of stakeholders.


This role will specifically be at CBS News Digital, one of the three CBS Digital Media properties, headquartered in New York, New York. We are looking for an intern who is passionate about data and all things news, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Role Details:

The team is looking for a creative and curious analytics intern with the ability to deliver meaningful insights, strategic perspective, and actionable recommendations. Projects may include revenue optimization analyses, dashboard development and industry research projects.


Your Day-to-Day:

  • Identifying the right methods, pulling, prepping, cleaning and feeding data to dashboards

  • Analyzing data to answer questions, identify trends, and find compelling stories within

  • Providing insights and recommendations through reports, presentations, and data visualizations

  • Working closely with other BI and Data team members to set requirements and solve problems across a variety of projects and properties


Logistics:
  • Time commitment: full-time, 40 hours per week during our regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm) but times may vary per team
  • This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Qualifications:

What you bring to the team: 

You have – 

  • BA/BS degree (Master’s degree a plus)

  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Strong Excel skills required

  • Advanced SQL Knowledge

  • Advanced Tableau Knowledge

  • Advanced Python Knowledge

  • Strong Business Acumen

  • Sound communication skills; both verbal and written skills are essential

  • Attention to detail

  • General interest in News


You might also have – 


  • Prior work experience

  • Experience Adobe Analytics

  • Experience with GCP data tools


Additional requirements:
  • Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Must be at least 18 years old
