Role Overview:

The Social Media Producer will be responsible for developing Chowhound’s social media presence and growing our audience across a variety of touchpoints, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and other emerging platforms. The candidate should have experience creating social content, writing for social audiences and establishing a strong voice across social channels. Ability to think creatively, effectively collaborate with peers, and communicate best practices will be critical in this role. Role Day-to-Day:

  • Work closely with the Head of Video & Social to develop and execute social media strategy
  • Work alongside editorial and video teams to create social content and activation campaigns aligned against brand goals
  • Write daily social posts, including captions, copy and content across channels
  • Keep a well organized and documented publishing schedule
  • Track social media metrics and report on performance, providing analysis and recommendations for improvement
  • Write clever, social-friendly, attention-grabbing headlines and title deck information
  • Work in Photoshop to create social graphics and video thumbnails
  • Manage social media partnerships with influencers and other media brands to optimize and distribute content
  • Partner with video team to ideate socially-driven video concepts based on trends
  • Test and track specific audiences and report monthly on findings
  • Curate and manage city-specific Facebook presences
What you bring to the team:
  • A deep understanding of publishing on various social platforms and nuances of the end-user experience on each
  • Passion for food, beverage, dining, cooking, travel and lifestyle content
  • Experience managing brand social accounts
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Competence in Adobe Photoshop
  • Excellent writing skills with great attention to detail
  • A strong tone of voice with a witty sense of humor
  • Extremely organized, meticulous and detail oriented
  • Comfortable working on tight deadlines and at a fast pace
  • A good eye for imagery and photography
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Media or equivalent experience

You may also have:
  • Understanding of Adobe Premiere, and other Adobe CC products
  • Familiarity with other Creative Suite applications
