Division Overview:
This role is within the Central Video Technology Group which supports all CBS Interactive brands and beyond, including Showtime. We manage internet traffic for video streaming, measuring the quality of video encoding, and monitoring for video streaming problems. We make sure the internet will not break during the SuperBowl and other large scale events.

Role Details:
This Senior Technical Product Manager oversees the multiple products used by the team to support the rest of CBS’s low-level video streaming needs.

The role calls for a highly-organized individual, who can take inputs from multiple stakeholders on multiple brands, synthesize a clear product vision from those inputs, then evangelize and consistently execute against that vision.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Manage and prioritize each products’ roadmap
  • Write and maintain detailed product requirement specs
  • Dive into technical documentation from cloud and video vendors
  • Closely collaborate with engineering to manage technical risk, resources, and scope to ensure effective execution against deadlines
  • Gather feedback from and communicate status updates to stakeholders, particularly video operations teams
  • Updating product management software to reflect current priorities
  • Help drive adoption of products by introducing new products and features to our customers
What you bring to the team:
You have -
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of product management experience (candidates with less / more experience may be considered for PM / Lead PM roles)
  • Proven ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to management.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, including the ability to articulate high-level technical solutions
  • Comfortable analyzing data and presenting to stakeholders
  • Ability to comprehend and break down technical documentation provided by vendors and partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathy for our video operations teams who carry the pager
You might also have -
  • Knowledge or experience in video streaming and encoding
  • Familiarity with machine learning and data visualization
  • Experience working with systems for real-time operational visibility/monitoring
  • Understanding the fundamentals of networking
