Description:
Data plays a central role at CBS Interactive. Our Business Intelligence team is a crucial part of driving business, product, and operational decisions by providing rich data, strategic insights and analytical products. We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Analyst who is passionate about data and entertainment, who thrives in a dynamic, and fast-paced environment. 

Role Details:
The perfect fit for this role requires someone with the ability to deliver meaningful insights and strategic recommendations for our businesses, to drive audience and revenue growth, as well as perform very hands-on analyses and modeling in support of our growing video subscription service, CBS All Access. 

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of:
  • Developing and applying sophisticated statistical and mathematical models in support of decision-making and to predict subscriptions, video usage, revenue, and user behaviors. Application of this includes at-risk/churn models, LTV/CLTV, retention curves, attribution models, CPA/CPI calculations to name a few.
  • Developing ad-hoc analyses, distilling complex analytical results down to concise summary and presenting actionable insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Managing Dashboards showing model results across platforms and services, e.g. web, mobile apps, connected devices, video subscription services.
  • Assisting in data requirements gathering and data validations.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Work closely with marketing, finance and product leads to assess the monetization as well as risk potential of existing and new products/services.
  • Develop and maintain subscription acquisition and retention models including predictive modeling for CBS All Access and collaborate with data team members to automate updates and reporting.
  • Create a well maintained, documented and transparent reporting infrastructure that keeps all business partners updated.
  • Analyze retention curves and attribution models to communicate KPIs and risks to stakeholders on all levels.
  • Develop and update LTV/CLTV models for varying subscription plans, analyze the results and communicate findings. 

Qualifications:
What you bring to the team:
You have--
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Math, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent quantitative field
  • 2+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role, preferably for an online entertainment media property or e-commerce platform
  • Experience building financial and mathematical models, including at-risk/churn, LTV/CLTV, retention curves, attribution models, CPA/CPI,...
  • Experience with SQL coding (from BigQuery, Impala/Hadoop, Teradata or similar environments) and analytical tools (Tableau, R, Python)
  • Strong detail-orientation with a penchant for data accuracy 
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills for complex communications as well as strong problem solving skills and financial aptitude.
  • Exemplary relationship builder who is consultative in nature and able to quickly form partnerships with colleagues and customers

You might also have--
  • Finance and marketing experience
  • Experience in web/video analytics and subscription services
  • Experience with digital analytics tools such as Adobe or Google Analytics
  • Relevant knowledge in Actuarial analysis
