Description:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate who loves digital media and wants to grow their career in online product development in this exciting role within our Global B2B group (ZDNet.com, TechRepublic.com, TechProResearch.com) as Product Manager. As Product Manager you will be involved in supporting all facets of product development to deliver an exceptional user experience on our sites ( ZDNet.com, TechRepublic.com, TechProResearch.com) across all devices. With the goal  of increasing user engagement and increasing user actions such as site registration, and newsletter subscriptions. We are looking for a person who is innovative and likes to get their “hands dirty” to join a driven and fun loving product team.

Job Purpose: As the Product Manager, you will be responsible for the user interface of the sites to ensure excellent user experience across all devices, increased user engagement and better conversion of key user actions

Core tasks will include optimizing the sites and delivering a better user experience and response from users; optimizing the current user interfaces across all devices; improvement and idea generation for our apps; working with the BI team to ensure regular site tracking and analysis is generated to drive constant improvements in user experience across the site; involvement in and creation of AB testing to constantly iterate across our sites; prioritizing projects and tasks for the engineering queue and testing all new features before deploying

Main tasks/responsibilities:
  • Develop a strategy for the sites maximizing user experience, lifetime user value and revenue opportunities
    • Audit of the site against scorecard and KPIs regularly and reporting on progress to key stakeholders
    • Carry out an ongoing competitive and market audit to uncover new approaches
    • Establish a plan for the site to deliver improved user experience, increased user interaction, across all content
    • Develop scope, specifications and timeline documents for planned developments including a focus on video, mobile and key page type increases
    • Liaise with the Engineering Project Manager on scheduling, resource allocation, communication and delivery of all projects
    • Support executing to a plan of test/learn/iterate, execute on product innovations, enhancements, developments
    • Monitor the response of new products with a view to optimizing quickly on upside or addressing downside immediately
    • Be vigilant on a daily basis in checking the sites for bugs and log any you find and track to resolution
    • Manage the prioritization of improvements and technical requirements to deliver on KPIs
    • Audit mobile site experience and app experiences to produce a plan for growth to all users on all devices
    • Contribute to the building of the product development roadmap

Team responsibilities:
  • As an important part of the product management team, you will be expected to forge strong, productive working relationships with all members of the team becoming a vital contributor in group decision-making.
  • You will help to foster best practice within the company by sharing your knowledge and insight across the global team

Qualifications:
Previous experience in product development, in a b2b online environment essential
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – and a strong track record of creating compelling and effective communications
Experience with data analysis and prioritizing roadmap items to deliver on KPIs
Outstanding interpersonal and team skills with a gift for developing strong working relationships and generating credibility, trust and respect throughout the company
An innovator and strategic thinker that can think outside the box to deliver innovative product solutions that will shape the media industry
Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred:
Marketing or business qualification preferred
