Description:
TVGuide.com is seeking an enthusiastic News Writer to work in our Los Angeles bureau.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic pop culture fan with strong reporting and writing skills. He or she will be responsible for devising innovative, expedient ways to cover breaking news, whether by writing a story, producing a video or creating a fun social media post – sometimes all three!

He or she must be comfortable working in a deadline-oriented environment. Owing to the around-the-clock nature of TV news, some evening and weekend hours will be required.

Qualifications:
One to two years of hands-on, deadline-driven online editorial experience, preferably for an entertainment publication or online
A strong knowledge of pop culture — specifically the television business — and a passion for covering it
The ability to gather reputable news sources, and chase down leads
Familiarity with all forms of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Tumblr and Instagram
On-camera experience, or comfort with video a plus
Must successfully pass a background check.

In addition, CBS will be guided by applicable federal, state and local laws when considering for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories.
