A great opportunity for a strong researcher to build on their career in the exciting and fast-changing world of online media in the CBS Digital Media division (, and  This position provides an opportunity to conduct a wide range of research (primary, syndicated, and secondary) to support business leads across product, sales, and marketing.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with syndicated data sources as well as conducting primary research.

Day to Day Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Provide senior executives, product and marketing teams with market and consumer research to support strategy and product development

  • Develop approaches and oversee qualitative online and offline research including usability and focus groups

  • Design, program, manage, analyze and report on internal audience surveys and third party panel surveys on multiple platforms, including mobile devices, PCs and OTT

  • Work closely with Data Science teams to ensure proper tracking of our sites and apps in syndicated measurement tools; eg comScore, Nielsen

  • Investigate and resolve data tracking issues with syndicated measurement tools

  • Manage CBS Digital Media taxonomy in third party tools such as Nielsen and comScore

  • Partner with sales research to assess syndicated and develop proprietary advertising effectiveness measurements

Key Projects (including but not limited to:):
  • Develop a clear understanding of differences between internal traffic metrics and traffic metrics in new syndicated data sources.  If needed, work on correcting data.

  • Study entertainment, sports and news digital video viewership consumption across platforms to understand shifts in viewer consumption and identify business implications

  • Help assess and validate syndicated cross-platform measurement solutions and work with vendors to ensure accuracy of these approaches

  • Quarterly research on the fast-evolving OTT platform including who’s watching, what they’re watching and why they choose OTT over other viewing platforms.

  • Through frequent site/app testing identify areas of opportunity to improve user experience of CBS Digital Media sites/apps

  • Industry representation of CBS Digital Media at MRC, IAB and industry conferences


What you bring to the team:

  • Quick learner who works fast and is very team-oriented

  • Minimum 5 years research work experience with BA or BS required

  • Experience working with syndicated research tools including Nielsen Online, comScore, MOAT, Decibel Insights, etc.

  • Good analytical skills and excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills are a must

  • Math aptitude and focused on data accuracy

  • Must be well-organized and able to work on several detailed projects at once

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

You might also have:

  • Quantitative/statistical background - strong SPSS skills a plus

  • Experience working in digital media industry strongly preferred

  • Experience with Nielsen NPower as well as digital analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics are a plus
