A great opportunity for a strong researcher to build on their career in the exciting and fast-changing world of online media in the CBS Digital Media division (, and  This position provides an opportunity to manage and conduct a wide range of research (primary, syndicated, and secondary) to support business leads across product, sales, and marketing.   The ideal candidate will have prior experience in digital subscription services and solid product research experience in the media and/or digital content field. 

Day to Day Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior executives, product and marketing teams with market and consumer research to support strategy and product development both domestically and internationally
  • Develop approaches and oversee quantitative research including survey work and 1st party data.
  • Create highly intuitive, visual dashboards with focus on high business impact.
  • Proactively explore data to discover hidden insights and develop new metrics.
  • Run ad hoc analyses to answer specific day to day questions or support larger initiatives.
  • Develop approaches and oversee qualitative online and offline research including usability and focus groups
  • Research, track and generate global insights into the non-US subscriber growth landscape
  • Lead ad hoc analysis and deliver presentations that that will inform financial and strategic decisions around acquisition tactics, user engagement and retention
  • Partner with the Product team to identify and prioritize areas of opportunity that will increase subscriber growth and improve user engagement and retention
  • Gather, manipulate, analyze and document raw, complex data and share data stories that make sense to business and technical audiences
  • Serve as tactical liaison for product management teams to provide the most accurate and relevant information to help drive meaningful business decisions

Key Projects (including but not limited to:):
  • Analyzing international markets for expansion of CBS content distribution outside of the US
  • Identify user trends via quantitative analytics and apply qualitative research to explain the who/why behind the behavior
  • Synthesize information and data collected from a variety of sources (both qualitative and quantitative) to tell a cohesive story of user behavior.
  • Through frequent site/app testing identify areas of opportunity to improve user experience of CBS Digital Media sites/apps
  • Identify projects suitable for A/B testing and synthesize findings
  • Conduct 1-on-1 usability of CBS sites/apps either in-person or online

What you bring to the team:
  • 3-5 years of relevant market research experience with a proven track record of leveraging analytics to drive significant business impact, preferably in digital subscription services and/or digital media.
  • Solid product market research in media and/or digital content
  • Highly competent with quantitative data analysis and utilizing data to drive decision-making
  • Experience with survey-based and analysis using tools, such as SPSS
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong data visualizations skills to convey information and results in a clear and intuitive manner  using tools such as Tableau
  • Organized, self-driven and comfortable working in a fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Skilled in preparing effective presentations with clear narrative and impactful graphics
  • Experience building meaningful reports and dashboards to drive business decisions
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, but also able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

You may also have:
  • Experience working in digital subscription industry strongly preferred
  • Experience analyzing non-US markets
  • Experience with Clicktale and/or Decibel Insights
  • Experience with Optimizely or other A/B testing tools
  • Experience with online usability tools, such as
  • Experience with Nielsen NPower as well as digital analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics are a plus
