Brand Overview: is a category leader in comScore video and a top 50 YouTube property that serves more than 250 million video views per month. The IE digital video team produces dozens of digital articles and videos a day, repackages broadcast content for digital distribution and is developing original, digital series.

Role Details:
The managing editor is an ambitious, organized and encouraging leader who oversees the day-to-day operations and content priorities of the editorial team at This multi-tasking manager is responsible for assigning and delivering short and long-form content while working hand-in-hand with the video team. They must be comfortable with Content Management Systems for publishing.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Set daily content priorities for including packaging broadcast segments for digital
  • Identify emotionally driven stories and viral videos before they’re covered by online competitors
  • Manage a team of staff and freelance writers and their daily assignments
  • Work closely with the leads of the video and social teams
  • Work with the Editor in Chief to oversee long-form coverage and the editorial calendar
  • Develop and maintain relationships with distribution partners and content agencies
  • Help manage monthly spending budgets and staffing schedules
  • Identify and pitch ideas for special projects including sponsored content

Key Projects:
  • Manage original content projects for, its social platforms and syndication partners
  • Work with content distribution partners to identify opportunities for growth on their platforms
  • Create compelling content to grow UVs onsite and audience engagement on IE's social platforms
What you bring to the team:
  • BA or BS degree, 7+ years' experience working for a news organization, preferably in digital
  • Experience managing a team and overseeing longer-term projects
  • Excellent headline-writing skills and knowledge of SEO
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to an ever-changing digital environment
  • A solid understanding of Inside Edition’s content and voice

You may also have--
  • Experience with video production, Photoshop, CMS, iNews and online syndication
  • Experience creating compelling content for social platforms and growing interactions
  • Experience creating and developing mid-to-long-form features and series
